ADVERTISING - FILM - TELEVISION - STAGE - EXHIBITIONPUNCH & JUDY
The Punch and Judy Show has been a valued addition to British life since it arrived in England in 1662 and was noted by diarist Samuel Pepys. Punch and Judy sequences are often called for to lend character to Victorian and Edwardian sea-side scenes and play an important part in The Old Curiosity Shop. The puppets themselves are great for set dressing.
We have over 500 different Punch and Judy puppets available to hire, some of which are genuine Victorian examples, whilst others are more suited to modern performances. We also have robust contemporary examples which appear to be much older.
We have puppet stars from Tony Hancock's classic film The Punch and Judy Man, cult sitcom Are You Being Served and a variety of other shows. David has performed the Punch and Judy Show and talked about its history on many high profile commercials, television and radio programmes over the past 25 years, as well as giving countless private performances and worked a regular pitch at the world famous Covent Garden Market.
Below are a series of photos showing puppets grouped by maker, and period, showing a small sample of the type of figures we can supply.
We can also supply a variety of Punch and Judy booths, of differing designs.
